The human body is an amazing creation.

Its ultimate goal is survival. If you think about it, the body is like an armor, meticulously designed to ward off foreign invaders. Tears wash away dirt and also function as antioxidants and prevent bacterial adherence. Nasal secretions and ear wax provide a physical barrier to trap dirt but also have antibacterial properties.

The Immune System

The most important member of the immune system is the gut, where approximately 70% of the immune system lies. That makes sense, since it gets bombarded daily with toxins, chemicals, bacteria and viruses present in the foods and water we ingest. When our immune system is weakened, it can mistake foods for foreign invaders, producing inflammatory chemicals that travel throughout our bloodstream.

Chronic Conditions

These inflammatory chemicals produce symptoms that lead to chronic conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, fibromyalgia, and many others. One important step in restoring our health is to identify these “trigger foods” and remove them from our diet. This allows the immune system to “calm down” and symptoms begin to improve.

My Goal: Optimize Health and Restore Quality of Life

My goal is to help my patients optimize their health and restore their quality of life. I use an integrative and functional approach, combining diet, laboratory analysis and supplements if needed.

Most importantly I listen.

You know your body better than anyone else. Together we’ll develop an approach that works for you.
